Bio

Los Angeles-based pianist/composer/arranger Jennifer Oikawa is an artist whose musicianship has equally graced the realms of jazz and classical repertoire.  Her formal years of study began at age 9 in Calgary, AB, Canada, and continued throughout her teenage years culminating with the distinction of merit and honor with an Associateship of The Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT).  She continued her musical studies at Rocky Mountain College (BAR), Azusa Pacific University (MM), as well as studies with Terry Trotter (Natalie Cole, Everybody Loves Raymond), Joe Bagg (LAJC) and Russ Ferrante (Yellowjackets).

Jennifer Oikawa has toured throughout the United States, Japan, and Canada, and her professional career has included creations and works with her own jazz group, The Jen Oikawa Trio, as well as performances, collaborations, and/or recorded performances with Tommy Walker (Dove Award Nominee), Justo Almario (TOLU), Troy Welstad (Pink), Bryan Taylor (Lee Ritenour, Gwen Stefani), The Blue Note Swing Orchestra and Jeremy Graham (Blues Singer/Song-Writer).  Ever-evolving, she is currently preparing new collections of compositions and arrangements of vintage repertoire from noted jazz composers.
